Greetings from the Director

CHUNG-ANG University opened the Software Major in the School of Computer Engineering in 2015 and established the School of Software in 2018. In 2019, the College of Software will be newly established with an entrance quota of 150 students as well as a specialized ICT Graduate School in order to lay the groundwork for the education of global leaders who will lead the SW-oriented society through the innovative improvement of the education system. On such basis, we will create an environment for effective software education and pioneer the SW-oriented future society by fostering “CAU (Creativity, Agility, Utility) Global SW Leaders” who will lead the world in The Fourth Industrial Revolution.

In the Software Education Institute established in 2016 and the School of Computer Engineering in the College of Creative ICT Engineering, we will establish hi-tech infrastructure, foster open cooperation between undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct basic SW education for non-major students, and nurture creative convergence talent through SW convergence major courses. In addition, we will establish a leading model of SW education such as industry-academy operation program necessary for the training of manpower for the industry and customers and various value-enhancing programs to change the university into one that leads the knowledge and information society and The Fourth Industrial Revolution.

We will reform the education of SW majors to foster practical problem solution-type SW professionals through customized track education, immersive coding education, and actual field education. We will also change the Open Source SW Curriculum gradually through the SW Education Center.
The SW Education Center is fostering a SW-oriented university that can change the future of Soft Talent and Soft Power through SW Shift: shift of the curriculum of the major for the education of practical SW professionals; shift of basic educational course for the training on linking SW talent; shift of convergence educational course for the education of creative SW convergence talent; and shift of SW value enhancement for the enrichment of social value.
